Six-Word Memoirs

So Smith Magazine recently ended and published a book called "Not Quite What I was Planning" that includes six-word memoirs "by writers famous and obscure". In this vein, I thought I would give it a try myself. Here are my six word memoir ideas:

1. I survived Chosica, Catilluc, and Jangas.
2. To be: Returned Peace Corps Volunteer
3. I am not a sex object!
4. No more rice or potatoes please.
5. Let me survive this combi ride.
6. Spanish is not my first language.
7. Don't make me go to Lima.
8. Ancash: beautiful mountains, beautiful people, beautiful.
9. So many projects, so little time.
10. Life is absolutely fabulous in Jangas.

So there are 10. I'll try to take some new pictures to put up in the next week or so. There just hasn't been a lot of new going on...although, school is back in session and I do have some projects in the works. Wish me luck.

I love the memoirs - a limit of six words really forces you to get to the essence of what your trying to say, maybe I'll try my own for India . . .

I've been bad about following up with everyone's travels, but I now have 24hr internet, so count me in as a regular reader!

Congrats on all your good work - not that I expected any less from a fellow IYFD master!

I'm lovin' the 6 word memoir. Sweet. I think I might use this in my classroom. Interesting lesson.

Let's see, for you, I think I'd go with:
Coming home soon to see us!
Starting new adventures in just months.
Sad to leave, but looking forward.

What do you think?

I'll have to ponder my own memoirs before I can post them. I'm looking forward to your pics.

Ari- The home stretch, how are you feeling? What are you thinking? What are your plans?? I hope you are well, I'm glad that you are language training with women assassins! I have three weeks left of students and then Lukin arrives and we travel for a few months...YAY!

Keep doing good work, take care of yourself.
